Joining forces with the finest restaurants in town, we compile exclusive tasting menus that offer food lovers signature dishes that present the extraordinary skills of the chefs. For the ninth menu we turned to John Anthony, a serious contender for the trendiest Chinese restaurant in town. Executive Chef Saito Chau designed a ten-course meal, hosted in an exquisite setting where the décor aesthetics of British tearooms and Chinese dining halls from a bygone age are integrated. From dim sum appetizers to the main course and desserts, every dish pushes the boundary of traditional Chinese cuisine, and nothing is short of breathtaking be it the food presentation or the taste. Home-made Gin and Tonic drinks from the restaurant bar pair wonderfully with the food and bringing a brand-new gourmet experience to diners.

About John Anthony | Spanning 7,000 square feet, the restaurant is named after John Anthony, a business man who played a significant role promoting global trade during the colonial times. As a tribute to his past contributions in East-West cultural exchange, the restaurant menu is primarily based on traditional Chinese cuisine but uses ingredients flown in from around the globe, applying state-of-the-art Western cooking techniques. This cross-cultural culinary approach is well reflected by the restaurant’s décor fusing Eastern, Western and local elements. For example, the fabric adorning the ceiling was made at a dye workshop on Lamma island to bring a sense of outdoor comfort. Sustainability is also woven into the interior by tiling the floor with reclaimed terracotta from old Chinese village houses.
