The king of mushrooms - Matsutake is a rare and subtle delicacy. Usually found under trees and concealed beneath fallen leaves, only a small number of forests are appropriate for their growth. On top of that, hunters are also competing with local folks and animals in harvesting the Matsutake mushrooms. Thus, it can go as high as $2,000 per kilogram, with its peak season typically starting from August to October.
To welcome the new Matsutake season, à nu retrouvez-vous is featuring the hard to find and highly prized Bhutan Matsutake Mushroom! They are preparing the delectable 9-course dinner menu from this August to highlight the ingredient.
Head Chef Yusuke Kitade has specially created an exclusive menu, with the Bhutan Matsutake Mushroom starring in 3-4 meticulously composed dishes. The menu features a Bhutan Matsutake, Japanese Ayu (Has sweet-tasting flesh possessing a flavor reminiscent of melon, and especially delicious in late summer when the fish are spawning and carrying their roe), Shima-aji, Pigeon, and Uni etc. Various special cooking methods will be used to bring out the best of scent and texture of the Matsutake Mushrooms. Lastly, the scrumptious Matsutake Mushroom menu will be finished with a handmade dessert of the day.
