Easy and warm Christmas drink recipes

It’s perfect to have a festive warm drink on a cold Christmas night. Let’s give a toast to the holiday with below Christmas drink recipes that warm the cockles of your heart~

1. Mulled wine

Mulled wine tastes smooth and carries a mix of spices & fruity aroma. You must have a try on this warm and festive drink this Christmas! 

 Ingredients: 

1 bottle of red wine
1 orange (sliced)
2 cinnamon sticks
4 whole cloves
2 star anise
150g sugar

Method: 

1. Put all the spices, fruit and ½ bottle of red wine into the pot.
2. Add sugar to the pot, boil it at medium heat and keep stirring until the sugar is completely melted.
3. Add the remaining ½ bottle of red wine into the pot and boil at low heat for about 15 mins. Remember to keep it at a low temperature to prevent alcohol from evaporating. 
4. Strain the mulled wine before serving.

2. Hot buttered rum

It’s now the best season to have a cup of hot rum~ The hot buttered rum is easy to make and tastes good, make one to warm yourself up this Christmas!

Ingredients:

2 teaspoons of brown sugar
80ml dark rum
2 teaspoons of unsalted butter
½ teaspoon of ground nutmeg
½ teaspoon of ground cinnamon
100ml hot water
2 cinnamon sticks

Method: 

1. Place the brown sugar, unsalted butter, ground nutmeg and ground cinnamon into the cup and stir well.
2. Pour in the dark rum and hot water, mix it well.
3. Garnish the hot buttered rum with cinnamon sticks.

3. Eggnog

With a strong eggy taste, Eggnog is one of the sweetest Christmas traditions that you must try~

Ingredients:

3 eggs
250ml whole milk
150ml whipping cream
60g sugar
½ teaspoon of ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon of vanilla extract

Method: 
1. Whisk the eggs and sugar together until the sugar is completely dissolved.
2. Add the whole milk and whipping cream into the pot, cook it over low heat until it reaches a bare simmer.
3. Cool down the milk mixture and slowly pour it into the egg pulp and stir constantly.
4. Pour the milk & egg mixture back into the pot, cook it over low heat again until it is slightly thickened.
5. Serve it with ground cinnamon and vanilla extract.
